Glenn E. "Butch" Adams, age 86, a beloved husband and father of Palo Alto passed away on Tuesday April 22, 2014 with his loving family by his side at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Born in Port Carbon, PA on March 14, 1928,  he was the son of the late Jesse and Vertie (Karvar) Adams.

Glenn worked as a self employed contractor at the Reading Anthracite Company, where his fellow workers knew him as "Whitey".

He was a member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Port Carbon, a lifetime member of the Citizen's Fire Company in Palo Alto and a member of the Pine Valley Sportsman Club in New Ringold.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers:  Harold, Wallace, and Arthur Adams, and a sister Evelyn Yoder.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (Piacine) Adams, Palo Alto; 2 daughters:  Linda B. Petroski and her husband Stephen, Portsmouth, VA and Lisa C. Drebushenko and her husband Neil, Sinking Spring, PA; 3 grandchildren: Stephanie Snavely and her husband Blair, Wernersville, PA; Bradley D. Drebushenko, Portland, ME; and Eric J. Drebushenko, Sinking Spring, PA; 2 sisters:  Jane Faust, Orwigsburg, PA and Myrle Davenport, St. Clair, PA; a brother-in-law Robert Piacine, Palo Alto, PA; 2 sisters-in-law Marie Verba, Pottsville, PA and Catherine Donahue, Philadelphia, PA; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Port Carbon, PA. at 10AM on Saturday, April 26th,  with Rev. David W. Karns officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday evening 6-8PM and Saturday morning 8:30-9:30am at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike Street, Port Carbon.

Interment will be held in the St. Stephen Cemetery Port Carbon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA, Hillside Road,  Pottsville, PA 17901 or American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17803.
