Gerald F. Loskill, age 81, of Pottsville, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28th, 2014 at his home at Luther Ridge in Pottsville.

Born in Hazleton, PA on March 24, 1933,  he was the son of the late Jacob and Ellen (Gallagher) Loskill.

Gerald served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in the Korean Conflict.  After is getting out of the Military, he worked for the PP&L Company for 40 years and retired in 1992 as a supervisor.

He was a member of the St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Port Carbon.  He was a Past Board member of the Podi Credit Union.  Gerald will be missed by his loving family. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Doris J. (Pozzebon) Loskill on September 8, 2004, a brother Eugene Loskill, and a sister Eleanor Breshock.

Gerald is survived by his daughter Geralyn F. Cole and her husband Charles; 3 grandchildren: Brittany Kieffer and her husband Josh, Kendall Reber and his wife Jill, and Kyle Reber and his wife Richelle; 3 great great-grandchildren:  Konner Reber, Zakary Kieffer, and Adeleine Reber; a brother Larry Loskill; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Port Carbon at 10AM on Thursday, September 4th,  with Rev. David W. Karns officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday morning from 9-10AM at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church.

Interment with Military Honors will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 Frack Street, Frackville, PA 17931-1734.

The Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon is in charge of arrangements.
