Mary  Rady, age 90, of Pottsville, PA passed away Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at Schuylkill Medical Center, South Jackson St., Pottsville.

Born in Frackville, PA on December 2, 1924,  she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Shaboskie) Kurchock.

Mary graduated from Frackville High School, Class of 1943.  She worked for Van Heusen in Pottsville and also as a Florist for Miles Flowers Shop and then for Doug Wagner both in Frackville, PA. She finally went into business for herself and opened the Rady Flower Shop in Port Carbon and operated it for over 15 years until retiring in 1974.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Saint Clair, a member of the Port Carbon American Legion, Post #371 and a member of both the Schuylkill Haven and Port Carbon Senior Citizens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Nicholas Rady in 1973, 4 brothers: Michael, Penner, John, and Paul Kurchock, and a sister Kathryn Wonderlick. 

Mary is survived by 3 daughters: Mary Ann Hess and her husband Dave R. Sr., Mechanicsville, PA, Peggy Walter and her husband Ron Winston Salem, NC, and Christine Rady and her companion Joe Savitisky, New Philadelphia, PA; a granddaughter Danielle M. Boris and her husband Ron, Lake Wynonah, PA; a grandson Dave R. Hess Jr. and his wife Tara, Seltzer, PA; 4 great -grandchildren: Nicki Cicero and her husband Chris, and Bo, Brody, and Rosie Hess, all of Seltzer, PA; 3 great great-grandchildren: Christopher, Etsio, and Genevieve Cicero all of Seltzer, PA; 3 sisters: Olga Piaskowski, Frackville, PA, Eleanor Fetterman, Fountain Springs, PA, and Ann Blozusky, Lebanon, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Parastas will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon at 10AM on Tuesday, December 23rd,  with Msgr. Myron Grabowski officiating.

Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in St. Clair.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Monday evening from 7-9PM and Tuesday morning from 9-10AM at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Port Carbon Fire Company, Washington Street, Port Carbon, PA 17965or to the Janet Eich's Free Public Library, 111 Pike Street, Port Carbon, PA 17965
