Joseph Pohronezny, 92, a lifelong resident of Arnot’s Addition, St. Clair, passed away on Friday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

He was born September 12, 1922, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary Chura Pohronezny

Joe worked at Yuengling Brewery for over 20 years and then he and his wife were rural paper carriers for the Pottsville Republican.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Weiderhold Pohronezny, in 2006; three brothers; Alex, John and Michael Pohronezny and a sister Eva Kost.

Joe is survived by his daughter Charlotte Ward, Heritage Hills, Pottsville; a son Russell Pohronezny, NY; Grandsons; Robert Ward and his wife Annmarie; Joseph Gildea; all of Pottsville; and Benjamin Pohronezny; great-grandsons; Robert, Tyler, Nicholas and Noah Ward, Giovanni Gildea; all of Pottsville; nieces and nephews.

Gravesite Services with Military Honors will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
