Betty J. Russell, our beautiful loving mother, left us on Monday January 11th while we were by her side.  We were so blessed to have her in our lives. She is now in God's care and is at peace. We will miss you mommy!

Born in Pottsville, PA on August 29, 1928,  she was the daughter of the late Roy and Catherine (Schell) Hughes.

Betty was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Pottsville and a member of the Mechanicsville Hose Company Ladies Auxillary.  She spent alot of time in the outdoors and loved to go camping and fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Raymond W. Russell on April 20, 1985, a son Raymond J. Russell, and a sister Catherine Garrett.

Betty is survived by 3 daughters:  Joanne Barton and Gladys Fogarty, both of Pottsville and Eugenia Rawlinson and her husband Fred, Celibo, Texas; a son Scott James Russell and his wife Tammy, Frackville;

14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,  3 great great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Gladys Davis, Schuylkill Haven, Doris Dehner, Pottsville, and Mildred "Sis" Potts, Schuylkill Haven; and nieces and nephews

A Memorial Service will be held at theTrinity Episcopal Church in Pottsville at 10AM on Friday, January 16th,  with Rev. James Rinehart officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday morning from 9:30-10AM at the Trinity Episcopal Church.

Interment will be held private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church 200 South Second Street Pottsville, PA 17901.

The Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon is in charge of arrangements.
