E. Bruce Goodman, Sr., age 76, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Friday, January 8th, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon, PA.

Born in Port Carbon, PA on March 6, 1939, he was the son of the late Charles R. Goodman and Gladys E. (Womer) Goodman- Dechert

Bruce was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1958. He served in the US Army for 2 years and then the U.S. Navy on the USS Midway as a radioman for over 8 years with 3 tours in Vietnam.

He worked as a community staff worker for ACCESS Services in Orwigsburg and also worked for the AVENUES in Pottsville as a van aide.

Bruce was a member of First United Methodist Church in Port Carbon, the Pottsville AMVETS, the Tamaqua MOOSE Lodge, the Cressona American Legion, the Port Carbon Navy Club, and the Mechanicsville Fish and Game.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great great-granddaughter Macy Grace, a brother Charles Goodman, and a step-brother Harry Dechert.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beth A (Transue) Goodman, Port Carbon, PA; daughter Judith Ann Goodman DeLong and her fiance' Ralph, Bethel, PA; daughter Laura M. Goodman-Jenkins and her husband Daniel Jr., St. Clair, PA; son Eugene B. Goodman Jr. and his wife Heike, St. Clair, PA; daughter Amy B. Best and her companion Mike, Lebanon, PA; daughter Tara A. Carl and her husband Samuel, Port Carbon, PA; son SFC Bruce L. Reed Jr. and his companion Heather, Louisiana; son James M. Goodman and his wife Kelly, St. Clair, PA; daughter Heather M. Snyder and her husband Randall, Port Carbon, PA; son Adam C. W. Goodman and his wife Rebecca, Hecksersville, PA; daughtrer Sandra L. Stover, Tuscarora, PA; 32 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; 2 brothers: Thomas Goodman, Barnesville, PA  and Donald Goodman, Pottsville, PA; 2 dogs: Bella and Oreo; a cat Mr. Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon at 1PM on Saturday, January 16th,  with Rev. Lorraine Heckman officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday from 11AM-1PM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held private at the convenience of the family at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bruce's memory to the VA Medical Center Hospice Unit, Lebanon, PA 17042.
