Geraldine K. Palokas, age 84, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Thursday, March 23rd, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Pottsville, PA on February 26, 1933,  she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Isabel (Didjunas) Palokas.

Geraldine was a graduate of Soldier's Memorial High School in Port Carbon, Class of 1950 and then studied to be a hairdresser at Empire Beauty School. Geraldine served in the U.S. Navy as a Wave flight attendant.

She was employed throughout her life by the Girls Scouts in Pottsville,PennDOT, and the US Justice Department in NYC under Rudy Giuliani.

She was a member of the St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair, and a member of the Lithuanian Women's Club and Rosary Confraternity at the former St. Casimir Parish.

Geraldine studied at the Art Students League of New York and was an accomplished painter. She had paintings accepted by the Richard Nixon White House and the Vatican. She was also a published poet, with her book "I Took It All", and various anthologies.

Geraldine is survived by a sister Victoria Oettl and her husband Robert, Port Carbon; three brothers: Andrew Palokas and his wife Sandy, Port Carbon, Edward Palokas and his wife Cathy, Branchdale, and Norman Paloaks and his wife Martha, Carthage, MS and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair at 10:30AM on Thursday, March 30th,  with Msgr William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday morning from 9-10:30AM at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will be held in the St. Casimir's Cemetery in Port Carbon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Church Memorial Fund 250 Hancock Street Saint Clair, PA 17970.
