William George Reedy, age 81, of Palo Alto, Pottsville, PA passed away Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Schuylkill, East, Pottsville.
Born in Palo Alto, PA on October 16, 1935, he was the son of the late William H. and Carrie B. (Freeze) Reedy.
Bill worked for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542 out of Fort Washington, PA. He was a member of the Moose in Pottsville and then in Selinsgrove and a member of the Citizen's Fire Company in Palo Alto.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Melvin DeLong and Edward Reedy, and two sisters: Betty Hardy; and Ida Wallace.
Bill is survived by his wife of ? years, June Rosalie (Kerstetter) Reedy, Palo Alto; three daughters: June Shirey and her husband David, Pottsville, Karen Shirk and her husband Dennis, Narvon, and Vicki Hesse and her husband Scott, Palo Alto; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren. two sisters: Doris Homovich, Schoentown and Caroline Penberth, Pottsville; and many nieces and nephews.
A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon at 10:30AM on Saturday, April 29th, with Regnal Leibensperger, SALM officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday from 7-9PM and Saturday from 9:30-10:30AM at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be held in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Pottsville.
