Mr. Hupka was a wonderful art teacher. More than my teacher, I considered him my mentor. He is the reason I went to Kutztown, became an art teacher and photographer. His talent as an artist and his passion for art made an indelible mark on every student lucky enough to be in his classes. One of my favorite memories of his love and devotion to his family was when Jennyfer was about to be born. We were assigned "think pink" projects to decorate the hallway display case. All of you are in my prayers and my sincerest sympathy at this most difficult time.

My condolences to Joe’s entire family. He was not only my beloved art teacher from 68-71, but was instrumental in my own career as an art teacher my entire life. I would think of him often while at Kutztown and then in my career. His willingness to go above and beyond has influenced me my whole life. He will be missed by everyone he touched.

I was a student of Joe's at SHHS in the late 60's - early 70's. He was truly an inspiration to me and others he taught at the time. The best teacher I've had in 16 years of education.
