John  P. Fabian, age 76, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Friday, March 28th at the Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Frackville.

Born in Schoentown, PA on August 13, 1937,  he was the son of the late John and Cecelia (Swintlicki) Fabian.

John graduated from Soldiers Memorial High School in Port Carbon, Class of 1955.  He then enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force as a Airman 1st class stationed in Germany from 1955-1959.

He worked as a machine operator for the Pottsville Bleach and Dye Company in Port Carbon for over 35 years and then as a courier for the Pottsville Environmental Testing Lab in Palo Alto for 6 years.

He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Port Carbon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary E. (Fisher) Fabian on October 16, 2010.

John is survived by son Michael C. Fabian and his wife Liz, Pottsville; son Charles M. Fabian and his wife Sandy, Sinking Spring, PA; daughter Laura L. Bair and her husband Michael, Palo Alto; son Mark A. Fabian and his wife Tracy, Leesburg, VA; 4 grandchildren: Michael Bair, Albrightsville, Randyl Elizabeth Fabian and Aaron C. Fabian, both of Leesburg, VA, and Wyatt M. Fabian, Sinking Spring; 2 sisters: Gloria Tokarick, Auburn and Cecelia Williams, Ozark, AL; and nieces and nephews.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St. Port Carbon at 10AM on Tuesday April 1st,  with Lay Minister Lois Sterling and Regnal Leibensperger, SALM officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Monday evening from 7-9PM and Tuesday morning from 9-10AM at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home

Interment with Military Honors will be held in the Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery in Schuylkill Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 16 North Fourth Street Minersville, PA 17954.
