Kenneth R. Fisher, age 85, of Mechanicsville, PA passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, July 21st, 2014 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Schuylkill Haven.

Born in Palo Alto, PA on October 13, 1928,  he was the son of the late Benjamin and Florence (Sterner) Fisher.

Ken served in the U.S. Army as a Pfc at the end of WW II and then later earned the rank of Cpl and served in the Korean Conflict until 1952.

He was self employed as a contractor and then he bought and started the Ken-Mar Lumber Company in Port Carbon in 1978 and operated it for many years until retiring.

He was a member of the Primrose Bible Church in Minersville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Scott Harry Fisher, 6 brothers:  Robert Sterner, Benjamin, Charles, Clarence, Vernon, and Albert Fisher, and 8 sisters:  Charolette Strause, Anna Wintersteen, Lillian Kleckner, Florence Tobin, Marion Heinly, Grace Partyka, Mildred Fisher, and Mae Kissinger.

Ken is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary B. (Blakely) Fisher, Mechanicsville; 2 daughters:  Carol Fisher Coover, Mechanicsville and Elizabeth Fisher Khan and her husband Parwaiz, Harrisburg; a son Kenneth R. Fisher Jr. and his wife Dolores, Mechanicsville; a brother Robert Fisher, Palo Alto; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service and interment with Military Honors at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville on Monday July 28th at 1PM with Rev. Keith McCarthy officiating.

There will be no procession from the funeral home to the cemetery, so family and friends that will be attending are asked to please arrive at the cemetery by 12:45pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ken's memory to the Primrose Bible Church, 91 High Road, Pottsville, PA 17901
