Raymond J. Foster, age 75, of St. Clair, PA passed away Thursday, April 14th, 2016 at his home.

Born in Palo Alto, PA on August 31, 1940,  he was the son of the late Raymond D. and Anna (Strollo) Foster.

He worked as a coal miner at Reading Anthracite Pottsville, Pa. 17901 for 33 years.

Ray served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4 from 1958 till 1965.

Ray was a member of the Phoenix Fire Company in East Mines and then the Alert Fire Company in Saint Clair for over 40 years, where he was Captain and Treasurer of the Saint Clair Fire Police.   He was vice president of the Schuylkill County Fire Police and a member of the Pensylvania State Fire Police.

He was the last of his immediate family, being preceded in death by his parents and a brother Joseph Foster.

He was the husband of Dorothea L. (Webb)  Foster.   married for 49 years

Ray is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothea L. (Webb) Foster, Saint Clair; 2 sons: Francis J. Foster and his wife Michelle, St. Clair and Thomas G. Foster, Florida; 2 grandsons: Anthony and Aric; 4 great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Arriella, Dalilah, and Everett; a brother Anthony Foster, Massacusetts; and nieces and nephews.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon at 10AM on Monday, April 18th, Rev. Ronald Minner officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday evening from 6-8PM and Monday morning from 8-9AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment with Military Honors will be held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Saint Clair.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alert Fire Company 34 South Second St., Saint Clair, PA 17970.
