Carolyn L. Leinheiser, RN

Carolyn L. Leineiser, RN, age 83, of Pottsville, PA passed away Wednesday, January 8th, 2025 surrounded by her family at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.
Born in Pottsville, PA on January 26, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Leo A and Emily M. (Deiter) Leinheiser.
She was a graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School, Class of 1958. She then graduated from Mary Immaculate School of Nursing in Newport News, VA in 1961.  Carolyn started working at the Mary Immaculate Hospital and then for Rest Haven Nursing Home in Schuylkill Haven for over 20 years before moving to Florida. In Florida she worked for Lakeland Healthcare, where she was the Assistant Director of Nursing for over 10 years until she retired in 2006.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Joyce L. Leinheiser.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Gerard A Babb and his wife Hope, Florida; Stephen H. Babb IV and his wife Deborah, Pine Grove; Leo A. Babb and his wife Kristine, Oklahoma; C. Emily "Punkin" Babb, Pottsville; Carolyn L. "P-nut" Soponis and her husband Steven, Pottsville; Todd E. Babb  Florida; seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Doris Sunday, Virginia; Marie Doyle, Pottsville; Miriam Tirjen, Pine Grove; Rosalyn Kenderes, Port Carbon; brother: Leo A. Leinheiser, Jr., New Philadelphia; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 14th at 10AM at the St John the Baptist Church in Pottsville, with Rev. Kevin Bobbin officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Tuesday morning from 8-10AM at the church.
Donations can be made to help with funeral costs to Robert A. Evans, Jr. Funeral Home.
Interment will be held in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Pottsville.
