David Lee Mataka, age 68, of Pottsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 in Iowa.
Born in Pottsville, PA on July 4, 1953, he was the son of the late George and Naomi (Breisch) Mataka.
David worked as a Truck Driver for Bell Trucking in Shoemakersville for 20 years. He loved going fishing. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Eagles. His nickname was Casino Dave for his love of gambling at the casinos.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson Devin Artz and a brother Randall Mataka.
David is survived by a daughter Jodi Lee Mataka and her companion Michael Acinapura; a granddaughter Brianna Tassone; two brothers: George Mataka and his wife Margaret and Mark Mataka and his wife Maureen; a sister Tammy Mealing and her husband David; and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday October 13, 2021 from 6-8PM at the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home in Port Carbon.
Interment will be held private.
