Francis "Frank" Abati III Obituary

Francis A. (Frank) Abati, III, age 72, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Monday, September 13th, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Born in Ocala, FL on March 23, 1949, he was the son of the late Francis Alphonso and Janis (Cooper) Abati Jr.

Frank was a graduate of Hazleton High School, Class of 1967. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict in SETAF in Italy. Frank first worked for McAdoo Manufacturing and then for All Steel Company in Hazleton until retiring. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Port Carbon.

Frank is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rev. Lorraine Heckman and his son Jason M. Abati and his wife Traci, all of Port Carbon; a brother Michael Abati and his wife Jeanne, Drums; a sister Susan McClure and her husband Elwood, Chambersburg ; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Port Carbon at 4PM on Sunday, September 19th.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday from 3-4PM at the First United Methodist Church in Port Carbon.

Interment will be held private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help with Frank's funeral costs to the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home 208 Pike Street Port Carbon, PA 17965.
