George T. Yarnell, age 82, of Palo Alto, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital-Allentown Campus.
Born in New Philadelphia, PA on February 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Edward and Ruth (Spotts) Yarnell.
George served in the U.S. Army from 1958 till 1961. He retired from Arrow International after 38 years. George was a life member of the Citizen's Fire Company and the East End Fire Company, both in Palo Alto and the Lawton American Legion in Harrisburg. George enjoyed playing Pinochle at Citizen's Fire Company, playing golf, and going fishing and hunting. He was a big fan of Penn State and the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Bob, Leroy, and Edward (Pony) Yarnell and sister Delores Gernert.
George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth (Dougherty) Yarnell; two sons: George Yarnell Jr. (Beth), Pottsville and Scott Yarnell (Jill), Palm Beach, FL; a daughter Barbara Conville (Dan), Pottsville; four grandchildren: Kyle Masser (Melissa), Kelsea Yarnell, Daniel Conville (companion Paige McKeone), Kiersten Conville; a brother Bill Yarnell (Cathy), Harrisburg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 11AM on Wednesday, February 1st.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.
Interment will follow the service at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Port Carbon.
