Harry C. Keefer, Sr., age 88, of Palo Alto, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 at his home with his loving wife of 30 years by his side along with other family members.
Born in Pottsville, PA on December 16, 1932, he was the son of the late James and Marion (Schell) Keefer.
Harry worked for H.L. Miller and Son in Port Carbon and also delivered coal with Charlie Brokhoff. Harry was a lifetime member of the Mechanicsville Game and Fish Club, where he was also a bartender and was a former member of both the Greenwood Hill Fire Company and the Mechanicsville Fire Company. Harry was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by many people who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Harry C. Keefer Jr., sisters: Gladys Carrole, Jane McAnanney, and Anna Keefer, brothers: Don and John Keefer, and grandson Robbie Keefer.
Harry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathryn D. (Altemos) Keefer; son James Keefer; daughter Barbara Thomas; five step-children: Charles Lash, Monty Lash, Holly Tassone, Shannon Lash, and Chester Evans; eight grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
By his request, his services and burial will be held privately.
