Helen Dudash Obituary

Helen (Dolores) Dudash of Heritage Hills, Pottsville passed away peacefully on September 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Lynn Dudash after a brief illness.

Born in St. Clair on January 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Helen (Galenda) Lopez. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Michael in 2000, her brothers: James, Manny and George Lopez and her sister, Gloria McNulty. Dolores is survived by her children: Michael Dudash and his wife Lynn, Pottsville, Robert Dudash and his wife Marsha, Pottsville, and Laurie Dudash, Bethel; her brothers, Sammy Lopez and his wife Millie, Florida and Bobby Lopez and his wife Kat, Mississippi. Her grandchildren: Nicole Smith and her husband Ryan, Nicole was one of her devoted caretakers, Robert Dudash Jr., Matthew and Ashley Dudash, Dominique and Michael Dudash, and Jack Dudash; Great Grandchildren: Cameron and Eliana Smith, and Nikolai Bradley; sisters-in-law, Peggy Lopez, Schuylkill Haven and Ella Lopez, Auburn. Dolores also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were also very near and dear to her heart. Last but not least, she will deeply miss her canine companion and best friend, Lucy.

Dolores was a faithful member of St. Clare of Assisi Church, St. Clair. She spent most of her adult life in the garment industry and working in the family-owned businesses. Dolores was a kind and caring person who always put her family first. She was very involved with her children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s lives. She could often be heard telling her family, “I love you all the way to Heaven and you can't get farther than that." Dolores spent many years enjoying her siblings and their families at many social gatherings throughout the years and was known as "Lully" to them. You were a great mom and always made family gatherings very special and for that our memories of you will be eternal. Dolores was also famous for her pineapple, cherry and jello dessert. It would be a staple at all the family parties. She will miss her Heritage Hills neighbors who she came to know and care about deeply.

We certainly had a beautiful person as a role model in our lives. Dolores left us with volumes of knowledge and inspirational sayings that we can now carry with us in her absence. Her love will still guide us and we'll carry her in our hearts forever. Dolores was ready to meet our Lord as her faith was strong and she accepted whatever life handed her as she always knew it was in God's hands. It's not goodbye mom, it's until we meet again...

There will be no viewing hours but everyone is cordially invited to share in a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare of Assisi Church in St. Clair on Friday September 9th at 10AM.
