Joan Marie Rennick, age 79 of St. Clair, died peacefully on Sunday January 8, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was proceeded in death by her parents Victor Toth and Mary (Prokop) Toth, an infant sister Mary Helen Toth, and sister-in-law Patricia Toth.
Joan was born February 10, 1944 and grew up in Port Carbon, Pennsylvania. As a woman of faith, she was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church followed by St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Joan is survived by her husband of 58 years George A. Rennick, daughter Deborah Rennick Nebistinsky, husband Fred, son George V. Rennick, grand daughter Paige Marie Updegrove, husband David, and three brothers, Michael Toth, wife Louise, David Toth, and Thomas Toth, wife Melanie.
Joan wore many work hats over her lifetime starting out as a “candy striper” for the Good Sam Hospital. She finished at Boscovs Department Store from 1974 to 2009 as the manger of records and books. She delighted in spending time with her family and her friends. Joan also had a passion for music, sports, and her precious cats. You could always find her watching her favorite teams the Yankees and the Rangers. Over the years she traveled near and far to hear her favorite musicians, including her hero, David Bowie.
Joan had an amazing, kind, generous heart who always made others feel loved and taken care of. She always had a smile on her face and joy in her heart. She will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday evening from 6-8PM at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon.
Devine Liturgy will be held privately for Joan's family at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church on Friday, with Msgr. Myron Grabowski officiating.
Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in St. Clair.
