Joanne L. (Tobias) Romig

Joanne L. Romig, 83, of Minersville passed away at her home with her family by her side late Saturday July 8th 2023.  Born in Lebanon September 29, 1939 Joanne was the daughter of Samuel and Cora Kline Tobias.  Joanne attended the former Auburn High School, then worked at area knitting mills, retiring after 32 years from Craftex in Auburn.  She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, St. Clair.  

Married on April 29, 1967, Joanne shared 36 years of marriage to Donald B. Romig, until his death on May 17, 2003.  She enjoyed a day out shopping, crossword puzzles, and time spent with her family.  

Preceding her in death was a son, Bruce A. Romig; brothers Jay Tobias Sr, Ronald Tobias, and sister Janet Deitrich.  

Surviving are her daughters Bonnie and Don Kerrigan; Beverly and Chris Golca, Brenda Bowman, and Beth and Robert Fisher.  9 Grandchildren: Nicole, Joshua, Jocelyn, Tyler, jayme, Brandon, Jacob, Taylor, and Hannah.  5 Great Grandchildren: Serenity, Walker, Avery, Malakai, Zoey

Many other nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her faithful fur companion Cleo who was with her until the end.

Services for Joanne will be held Thursday July 13 at 11:30 AM at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home with her pastor Rev. Joe McDemus.  A viewing will be held from 10AM until the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.  For more info visit robertaevansjrfh.com
