John Anthony Hedesh, Sr., age 68, of Reading, PA , passed away on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at Laurel Point Senior Living in Reading.
Born in Maryland on June 23, 1957, he was the son of the late John Hedesh and Mary (Tripilis) Casko.
John was a graduate of Shenandoah High School, Class of 1975. He served in the U.S. Navy as a CE3. He was employed as an electrician at Indiantown Gap Military Reserve in Annville and was also a cook at his families restaurant, Gitano's in Fountain Spring, where they called him Chef John.
His favorite thing to do was to cook and he also loved to play golf, go to Knobels Grove, camping, go for long rides, play cards, listen to Elvis and Journey, especially his favorite song, Faithfully, and socialize with friends. John was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and all of Philadelphia sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Gary Hedesh and Toby Coles Sr.
John is survived by his companion Beverly A. Nally; sons: John Anthony Hedish Jr and Anthony John Hedesh; grandson Aiden Hedesh; granddaughter Revy Hedesh. brother William Gray; and nephews: Aaron Gray, Toby Coles, and Noah Gray.
Interment with Military Honors will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Friday April 10th at 10:30AM.
