John Joseph Motley, age 70, of Port Carbon, PA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 19th, 2025 at his home.
Born in Pottsville, PA on June 4, 1955, he was the son of the late John and Anna Louise (Stonelake) Motley.
John was a graduate of Pottsville High School. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, reading Westerns and Mysteries, collecting Comic Books, and all sports, especially baseball and football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Hunter Glen Motley on August 10, 2017, grandparents Joseph and Anna (Davis) Stonelake, twin brothers Brian and Bruce Russell, and a nephew Patrick Hohman.
John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen Ann (Himmelberger) Motley, Port Carbon; siblings: Cathy (Motley) Hohman and husband Jerry, Enterprise, AL, Kelly Russell, Kearny, NJ, Casey (Russell) Davidson and husband Larry, Jr., Katy, TX, Clancy Russell and partner David Hauptly, Pottsville, Michaeline (Russell) Buchanan and husband Mike, Kearny, NJ, and Marion Kelly, Kearny, NJ; five nieces; and eleven nephews.
A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon on Friday January 2nd 2026 at 12 noon, with Deacon Robert Reilly officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 10AM-12noon at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be held in the Berks County Memorial Garden's Cemetery, Fleetwood, PA.
