Mary Elizabeth Fisher Sinkovich of Plao Alto, passed away early in the morning on December 9, 2024 at
LVHN Cedar Crest Hospital due to cardiac complications.
She was born on December 30, 1946 to the Late Vernon W. Fisher and the late Mary Pollock
Fisher. She was married and preceded in death by her husband Stanley P. Sinkovich Jr. of 55
years.
Mary graduated from PAHS in 1964 and was in distributive education and earned her
cosmetologist license. Mary worked hard to support and love her family. She was employed by
Argo Mills, later as a Certified Nurse's Aide at Manor Care, and then a child care worker for
Avenues before retiring. She also worked many second jobs including waitressing, the purse
department at Boscov’s and styling hair. She also loved to crochet in her spare time and share
her creations with those around her; she was a very hard-working and strong little lady.
Mary is survived by her brother Richard W. Fisher and wife Carol Fisher, her half brother Vernon
W. Kleckner husband of the late Ester Kleckner, brother-in-law George P. Sinkovich and wife
Ellen Sinkovich, sister-in-law Dolores Russell wife of late Joe Russell, sister-in-law Jeannie
Tucci wife of late Lou Tucci, and sister-in-law Joan Sauser wife of John Sauser. Her two sons
Michael John Sinkovich and wife Mary Pidgeon Sinkovich of Carbondale, and Wayne Richard
Sinkovich and wife Lynn Sinkovich of Palo Alto. Mary is survived by two grandchildren and joys
of her life, grandson Craig V. Sinkovich and girlfriend Katerina Kathrein and granddaughter
Devon E. Sinkovich of Palo Alto. Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and
loving friends. She is also survived by her great-grand puppy Cash who looked forward to
visiting “Mommom’s House” for treats, even though he was not allowed to sleep over.
A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 11AM on Friday December 13th, 2024, Rev. James Carroll officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at the St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Llewellyn.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary to the St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church Building Fund. In Minersville.
