Melissa Michele Commings

Melissa Michele Commings, age 37, of Minersville, PA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg.
Born in Pottsville, PA on May 1, 1986, she was the daughter of Kerry Commings and Michele Ann (Kintzer) Sarkowski and her husband Mitchell Sarkowski.
Melissa was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School, Class of 2006. She worked as a salesclerk at Rite Aide and the Giant Food Store. Melissa was a member of former St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Port Carbon. She loved the outdoors, fishing, swimming, camping, shopping, and watching football.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents James and June Kintzer and an uncle David Kintzer.
In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her longtime companion Kyle Jocken; a son Evan Jocken; a sister Kristine Hunt and her companion Robert Murray; and uncles: James and Gary Kintzer.  
A Memorial Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 7PM on Thursday, May 2nd.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday evening from 5:30-7PM at the Funeral Home.
