Robert James Doyle, Sr., age 90 of Pottsville, PA passed away Tuesday, October 21st, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on December 27, 1934, he was the son of the late Vincent and Henrietta (Brady) Doyle.
Bob was a graduate of Minersville High School, Class of 1953. He was in the US Army stationed in Korea and then served in the Army Reserves. Bob worked for Van Heusen Company for 50 years until retiring in 2002. He was a past active member of Forestville Softball and a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Bob also coached CYO girls and boys basketball for St. John's Church and was an umpire for Railway Park Little League in Pottsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson Robert J. Doyle III, brothers: Edward "Butch", John "Pic", Joseph, and Thomas Doyle, and sisters: Mary Doyle, Ann Cooper, Agnus Vastine, Theresa Lascala, and Loretta Flynn.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie H. (Leinheiser) Doyle; children: Maria Omlor and her husband Scott, Robert J. Doyle Jr. and his wife Christine, and Eric Doyle and his wife Danielle; grandchildren: Brian and Darby Doyle, Zachary Zemantauski, Daniel, Elias, and Riley Doyle, and Zachaeus Omlor; a great granson Jameson; sisters: Catherine "Kitty" Moser and Rita "Dolly" Kimmel; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM at Mary Queen of Peace Chapel in Pottsville on Tuesday October 28th, with Rev. Kevin Bobbin officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday morning from 9:30AM till time of Mass at the Chapel.
Interment with Military Honors will be held at the St. John the Baptist No. 2 Cemetery in Pottsville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Society of Mary Queen of Peace Chapel or to the St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund
