Rose Ann (Reed) Scheaffer

Rose Ann Scheaffer, age 80, longtime Middleport resident was called to the angels on Friday, October 15th, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on September 2, 1941, she was the daughter of the late George C. and Irene M. (Romanko) Reed.

Rose Ann attended Blythe Township School. She was an avid seamstress with many ladies and men visiting her for alterations. Rose Ann loved to sew and make people smile having worked and retired from the garment industries of Target, Julie Fashion, Leslie Fey, and Alpha Mills. She missed her husband deeply. Rose Ann loved the many visits from Patty, Bailey, and Lucy as much as she loved the visits to Delaware to visit Patty and Matthew’s family. She loved her many Bassett Hounds and having rescued fourteen of them through the years.

Rose Ann will be forever missed by us, but always in our hearts. We love and miss you Rose Ann.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Scheaffer in 2017.

Rose Ann is survived by her loving and caring sister Patty Lee Reed; nephew Joe Solt; niece Karen Kristoff (Lenny) and children: Tyler, Angel, Christopher, and Jordan; nephew Matthew C. Solt (Lisa) and children: CJ, Alexis,a nd Brittany; her Bassett Blue and Cairn Terriers Sadie and Samey.

Her Funeral Services and interment will be held private for family members as per Rose Ann's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA P.O. Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901.

The Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home in Port Carbon is in charge of arrangements.
