Sandra Lee (Clayton) Coyle, age 82, of Pottsville, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16th, 2022, at Saint Luke's Hospital of Bethlehem, PA. Born in Santa Monica, CA on September 30, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Nelson J. and Evelyn (Wegman) Clayton.

Sandra was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1957. She then earned a bachelor’s degree in Education and a master’s degree in Fine Arts from Kutztown University. For many years, Sandra was a High School and Elementary Art Teacher for the Minersville Area School District, and for twenty years was the Executive Director for the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts in Pottsville.

Sandra was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pottsville, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and a board member for the Schuylkill Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her love of artwork, Sandra loved music, especially Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and many local musicians too numerous to mention.

A classy woman, with a big heart, she was devoted to family and friends as they meant everything to her.  Sandra will always be remembered for her style and flair, which lit up the room as she celebrated life and the arts.  Sandra was a vivacious personality and had twinkle in her eye that touched everyone.  She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thomas Aquinas Coyle in November 2013, a grandson Zachary Thomas Coyle and a sister Sally Clayton.

Sandra is survived by three children: Timothy C. Coyle and his wife Catherine, Pottsville; Caroline E. Coyle, Minersville; and Michael T. Coyle and his wife Christine, Bethesda, MD; six grandchildren: Ryan, Patrick, Caitlin, Aidan, Elizabeth, and Nolan; two brothers-in-law Monsignor Edward Coyle, St.Ann's Parish, Emmaus and Gerald Coyle, Girardville; a sister-in-law Elizabeth "Betty" Coyle, Pottsville; a cousin Barbara McGee, Genoa, IL; and two nephews: Michael Coyle and his wife Carole and John Coyle and his wife Helene, both of Pottsville.
