Timothy James Campbell

Timothy James Campbell, age 59, of Pottsville, PA passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at Geisinger St. Luke's Campus, Orwigsburg.

Born in Salem, Ohio on September 3, 1966, he was the son of William Campbell and Ilona Campbell-Mihai of Salem, Ohio.

Tim was a graduate of Salem High School in Salem, Ohio. He earned an Associate's Degree from Lincoln Tech and both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He owned and operated Skyliner Tree Service for many years before working as a Supervisor at Hexcel Corp. in Pottsville.

Tim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 34 years between 1985 and 2020. He loved his country and served it honorably across multiple deployments, including Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. Among his commendations, he received the Bronze Star. He retired as a First Sergeant.

Tim had many hobbies and talents: he loved riding his ATV and rappelling, was an avid gearhead, able to build and repair just about anything — but he especially loved working on his Chevrolet Chevelle – and was a member of the Roedersville Fish and Game Club in Pine Grove and loved to shoot. 

Tim's happiest moments were those with his family. Whether it was a big seafood boil, a night out at a concert, or simply staying in, he was at his best when the people he loved were close. His family and friends loved his big laugh, booming voice, and unique sense of humor that was equal parts wit and candor — always genuine and impossible not to laugh at. Tim was dependable, generous with his time and talents, and he would do anything for the people he cared about. He was the kind of man who made everyone around him feel loved. His circle of friends was wide and loyal, and he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cecelia (Wade) Campbell of Pottsville; sons: Zachary Campbell and his wife Christina of Charlotte, NC, and Adam Campbell and his wife Caitlin of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren: Addilyn, Margot, and Andi Campbell; sisters: Alissa Campbell Shaw and her husband Bradley of Cleveland, OH, Lacey Madison and her husband Michael of Salem, OH, and Deirdre Campbell and her partner Jim Kahline of Baltimore, MD; and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:00–11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon, followed by a religious service with military honors at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Rev. Lorraine Heckman officiating.

Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
