William Joseph Everly

William Joseph Everly, age 83, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Monday, November 23rd, 2020 at Schuylkill Center in Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on October 25, 1937, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Stafanic) Everly.

Bill was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School in Pottsville. He served in the US Navy from 1955 till 1958. Bill worked as a supervisor in charge of housekeeping at Good Samaritan Hospital in Pottsville for 20 years and then worked for the Pottsville Area School District in charge of outside maintenance until retiring.

Bill was a member of the St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Saint Clair and was a youth sports coach and a volunteer for Little and Teener League Baseball. He was also an avid fisherman.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrna (Kevy) Everly, Port Carbon; two sons: Michael Everly and his wife Christina, Pfafftown, NC and Craig Everly and his wife Lori, Pottsville; two brothers: Tom Everly, Phoenixville; and Fred Columbia, MD; a sister Mary Ann Detwiler, Wernersville; a grandson Alex Everly, Potttsville; two granddaughters: Cassandra and Ciara Everly, Pfafftown, NC; and nieces and nephews.

Bill's family would like to thank Schuylkill Center for taking great care of him for the three years he was living there.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church on Friday July 23rd at 11:30AM, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday morning from 10-11:30AM at the church.

Interment with Miltiary Honors will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill's memory to either St. Clare of Assisi Church Memorial Fund or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
