Randy Gelbutis, age 51, of Shenandoah, PA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 26th, 2021. Born in Pottsville, PA on May 27, 1970, he was the son of the late Richard Gelbutis Sr. and Mary Alice (Leskin) Johnson, who survives him in Port Carbon. Randy had previously worked with the railroad and was a warehouse supervisor before being disabled with DDD and a hereditary heart failure, which took him unexpectedly on Sunday from us. Randy loved to cook, garden, and work on projects with his hands. Randy loved riding his Harley Davidson, he loved life, looking forward towards each day. Loved family and never met a stranger.  Randy is a 16 month recovering addict, who went to meetings daily and was helping others overcome their addiction. Very proud of his recovery chips and his accomplishment in turning his life around. He was preceded in death by his step-father Steve Hopko in 1992 and Ronnie Johnson in 2019. Randy is survived by a daughter Dana Marie Gelbutis, Shenandoah; son Dustin Michael Gelbutis, who is stationed in Germany in the US Army; a granddaughter Olivia, Shenandoah; sister Mary Alice Paxton and her husband Norman; a brother Richard Gelbutis and his wife Dolores; a sister Melissa (Missy) Owens; nieces; nephews; a great nephew; a young man, Dillon Fogarty, who was raised as his son since birth; and his faithful dog and companion Bailey. A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 11AM on Monday October 4th 2021, with Regnal Leibensperger officiating. Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday evening from 6-8PM and Monday morning from 10-11AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be held private.
